Die größte Neuerung von GNOME 3.36 ist der überarbeitete Sperrbildschirm. Dieser sieht jetzt nicht nur besser aus, sondern ist nun auch funktionaler und leichter zu bedienen. Außerdem wurde das Design von Clocks grundlegend überarbeitet.
Die Virtualisierungssoftware GNOME Boxes kommt nun mit einem Tutorial daher und bietet zudem die Möglichkeit, mit UEFI zu booten. Im Einrichtungsprozess einer neuen virtuellen Maschine ist nun das Einstellen der Anzahl der genutzten CPUs möglich.
